We’ve spent a lot of time in this course looking at various features of state governments – how they conduct elections, the powers of their legislatures and governors, how their court systems operate, and the relationship between state governments and municipalities. Here, I want you to put everything together and think about your own state government.

Look at your state’s constitution or other documents and course texts to get a sense of how your state’s government is organized. Knowing what we’ve learned about reforms to state governments and various forms of state government, select three specific areas in which you think your state’s government should be reformed and make specific suggestions for improvement. Defend your choices as to why you think these reforms would make for better government. Be sure to cite any outside sources using a citation format of your choice.
